kosmaj socialist monument

Avala and Kosmaj are one of the first associations to Belgrade, located around a 1-hour drive from Belgrade city centre. On this tour, we offer a day trip outside of the city hustle. We are heading to Kosmaj mountain where you can visit a famous post-war monument and a viewpoint, have a lunch and craft beer tasting in the popular Kabinet brewery, and finish the tour in Avala where you can see the outstanding monument, a genuine masterpiece designed by Ivan Mestrovic from the time of the kingdom and the brutalist looking Avala tower, where you can climb on the top and enjoy the view.

Monument to the Unknown Hero is certainly one of the symbols of Avala. Until it can be reached by following a large number of steps, and when you approach the gate, behind which there is a mausoleum dedicated to an unnamed fighter from World War I, will give you a fantastic view of Belgrade, part of Vojvodina and Sumadija. Not far away, at the lower summit of Avala is the Tower of Avala (205m tall), built-in 1965, destroyed during the NATO bombing was rebuilt in 2010.
